Broadband in Eastern Ontario: Cable

The availability of broadband has recently expanded throughout Eastern Ontario and has the potential of reaching nearly all communities. Four different means are available:DSL, Cable, Wireless and Satellite.

Cable broadband is provided by four companies, each having its own territory. It is generally only available on residential streets, where the cable company has installed special switches for broadband.

Cable broadband requires a special modem.
